Legal Terms This website is created and hosted using the tools provided by the Sciencesconf.org platform. Legal Terms

Sustainability Conference Charter Since late 2023, as part of its commitment to social and environmental responsibility—particularly in reducing the carbon footprint of its events—the French Statistical Society (SFdS) has established guidelines that must be followed for all events it organizes. Statlearn pledges to adhere to these rules, which include:

  1. Transportation: Participants, speakers, and committee members are encouraged to use soft mobility or public transport to access the venue, as indicated on the event website. Priority is given to train travel for invited speakers.
  2. Catering services: Providers must meet the following criteria: seasonal and local food; reusable tableware; tap water; at least 50% vegetarian options; and measures to reduce food waste.
  3. Waste Reduction: Avoid promotional gifts/flyers; minimize printing for programs/brochures; reduce and sort waste.
  4. Communication: Limit the environmental impact of digital usage.

The conference will conduct a greenhouse gas (GHG) assessment (including speaker travel, services, and expenses). Participants can evaluate their own impact using tools such as the Labos1point5 travel simulator: https://apps.labos1point5.org/travels-simulator.

Offensive behaviour

The course must provide an experience for all participants that is free from harassment, bullying, discrimination and inappropriate behaviour, which includes, but is not limited to:

Procedure

Any participant in summer school and conference may contact us about experiences or observations of inappropriate behaviour, regardless of whether they wish to place a formal complaint or merely express a concern or seek advice. Please contact any of the Named Persons, XXX,  directly at the event or by email.

  • The Named Person will support the person reporting an offensive behaviour in deciding if and how to proceed.
  • The Named Person has no formal authority but will support the person reporting offensive behaviour by informing the relevant authority if agreed upon.
